This past week, Claimbase merchants received their biggest and most comprehensive update yet!
Thanks to five big changes, Claimbase merchants now enjoy a more custom, international, permissive, transparent and intuitive experience!

Read on for all details about what's new for Claimbase merchants in Claimbase's biggest update to date.
More custom and international - Adaptable checkouts and checkout messages
Merchants now have multiple settings to make checkouts created by Claimbase their own:
First, merchants can now set the language of the checkout message to either English or German:

Are you aiming for an international audience or are your customers German speaking? No problem, simply adapt Claimbase to your preference.
Second, merchants now have multiple options for the checkouts created by Claimbase.
Merchants can now set, if they want to reserve claimed products in checkouts, or not. If they opt to reserve products, no other customer can claim the items.
If a merchant does NOT reserve products, any other customer can claim and checkout items. That is, as long as the first customer has not checked out yet. This setting opens up a whole new way of doing regular sales or special events, like product releases.
In case merchants opt to reserve products in checkouts, they can now also choose for how long they want to reserve products. The following durations are available:
1h, 2h, 3h, 6h, 12h, 24h, 2 days, 3 days, 7 days.

Further, merchants have the option to set, if customers should still be able to check out their claimed products after the reservation expires, or not. In case they opt for customers to NOT be able to do so, Claimbase deletes the checkout at expiration.
In case, merchants opt for customers to be able to check out products even beyond expiration of reservation, products are nonetheless available again to be claimed by other customers. Meaning, another customer can claim an item out of its original checkout, if items are not checked out within the checkout timeframe set by the merchant.
This option established itself as the best of two worlds: Setting clear checkout timelines to customers and giving them an incentive to check out products within that timeline. And at the same time, whenever a customer does not checkout within the set timeframe, giving them the option to do so even beyond the deadline, making sure that the merchant does not loose the sale. We've employed this option in a shop for multiple months now and it delivers great results in practice! Try it yourself!
More permissive - Upper case letters now allowed in Claim-IDs
So far, claim-IDs used to not allow upper case letters and blanks. Merchants had to ensure, that their claim-IDs did not include any of those characters. With this update, we lift the restriction on upper case letters. Now, the only restriction for claim-IDs are blanks, making it easier for merchants to define correct claim-IDs.
Now, when a merchant defines a claim-ID in the SKU field of their product, upper case letters are automatically converted to lower case letters inside Claimbase. For merchant's customers, nothing changes - upper case or lower case letters do not matter for claiming, both comments "claim 23b" and "ClAiM 23B" trigger a valid claim for the same item. This implies, that two different products continue to demand claim-IDs with different characters - for example "23b" and "23c".
More transparent - Filter and error badge for blanks in claim-IDs
Speaking of restrictions for claim-IDs, we made the last remaining restriction for claim-IDs - blanks - more transparent inside the app.
Now, on the Settings page of Claimbase, there is an error badge displaying the number of products with claim-IDs containing blanks:

This gives merchants the opportunity to detect and correct potential errors in claim-IDs right when uploading products.
And we don't just tell merchants how many products have faulty claim-IDs, but we tell them exactly which products are faulty - with a second product filter view on the Claimbase Products page:

When clicking on a product title in that view, the merchant is taken directly to the details page of that product within their Shopify admin. Giving them the opportunity to correct the claim-ID on the spot.
More intuitive - Stripped down app setup steps
Finally, we stripped down and updated the app setup steps on the Claimbase Dashboard page:

It now concisely displays the five quick steps from installing the app to selling your first products with Claimbase. At the same time, we included a link to our in depth onboarding guides, that include all details for successful selling with Claimbase.
And that's it - our biggest update to Claimbase yet!
What do you think about it? Which update do you like most? And more importantly - which features should we implement next?
